Top 5 Highlights from Acumatica Summit 2018

Before we even arrived at Acumatica Summit this year, we knew it was going to be big. We came in ready to laugh, learn, network and have fun – we weren’t disappointed. From January 27th to February 1st, Acumatica Customers, Partners, Vendors, experts and more gathered for the annual Summit in Nashville, Tennessee and the location alone set it up for success!

This conference is a golden opportunity for customers and partners alike to learn about products and solutions including roadmaps, live demos, product certifications, hands on training tracks and breakout sessions designed to meet the specific needs of all attendees. With that said, even with everything Acumatica Summit 2018 had to offer there’s always people who can’t attend, or sessions that overlap and you don’t get to, so we asked our team to fill us in on the top 5 highlights and things they learned:

1. Acumatica Uptime in 2017 was 99.999%, and there were ZERO security, crypto-currency and ransomware breaches, with over 4,000 customers.

In many cases, businesses depend almost entirely on the technology and solutions they have in place, so any downtime can mean huge losses in revenue and customer satisfaction. Acumatica has proven to be a solution that customers can depend on. Additionally, ransomware is more prevalent now than ever before, leaving businesses vulnerable to an attack. However when they have a solution in place like Acumatica, in combination with the support from an expert partner, they can rest easy that their business data is secure.

2. In an interactive session, attendees were able to log into an app and vote on which product enhancements they wanted to be implemented.

Not only was it exciting to get to be part of the decision making, but it was an opportunity for customers to help steer product development in the direction they wanted and needed it to go. The details of these enhancements however were not allowed to leave the room, so those of us that weren’t there will have to sit patiently at the edge of our seats waiting to see what’s on the horizon!

3. Announcements on Enhancements to Acumatica in 2018 R1

While some of the enhancements that are being worked on are still being kept under wraps, they did announce a number of excusing enhancements that will be coming in 2018. One enhancement is the ability to use built-in pivot tables in financial Reports Data Query & Data Analysis, which will make it faster and easier to drill down into data to get valuable insights. Another exciting enhancement will be improvements to multi-company functionality, such as support for multiple currencies and improved inter-company finance capabilities so your business can run smoothly across different branches.

4. Acumatica 2018 R1 version will respond to look up commands from Amazon’s Alexa.

If you’re not familiar with Alexa from Amazon, it’s very similar to Siri from Apple. It allows you to operate technology that you use every day through conversational voice commands without having to push a button. The upcoming integration with Acumatia will allow you to operate aspects of your Acumatica solution though voice commands. Imagine being able to check your inventory in Acumatica by saying: “Alexa, ask Acumatica how many laptops we have in stock?”, and Alexa immediately responding with your stock levels. 5. Amazing Keynote Speakers

Acumatica Summit featured two keynote speakers: Acumatica CEO Jon Roskill and guest keynote speaker Carey Lohrenz, the first female F-14 Fighter Pilot and author of Fearless Leadership. Jon Roskill discussed the importance of giving back and humanizing technology which is also an important initiative for The Answer Company, achieved through our Answering the Call program. Carey Lohrenz closed the conference with a very inspirational, entertaining, and thought provoking speech. Everyone received a copy of her book and had the opportunity to meet her and have the book signed – an exciting opportunity that a huge number of attendees took.

It was exciting to see what a great success 2017 was for Acumatica, both as a company & solution, and the exciting plans they have lined up for the future – Acumatica Summit 2018 proved to be well worth attending. If the highlights weren’t convincing enough, Acumatica also threw an amazing celebration party at Country Music Hall of Fame, including a performance from Richie McDonald. We know we’re all ready for Acumatica Summit 2019 – we hope to see you there too!
